DAVID KEITHLEY (President) is originally from Littlefield, Texas near Lubbock, Texas. David graduated from Texas Tech University in 2004 with a B.A. in Psychology and in 2007 from Sam Houston State University with a M.A. in School Psychology. David and his family have lived in Huntsville for the last 8 years. David currently works as the Director of Special Education for Trinity ISD. David has acted in previous HCT productions of “Bell Book and Candle,” “Alone Together,” “Twelve Angry Men,” “The Boys Next Door,” “Shadowlands,” “Almost, Maine,” and most recently in “Harvey.” He assistant directed HCT’s production of “Anatomy of Gray” and directed HCT’s productions of “Hate Mail” and “Dr. Cook’s Garden.” David is married to the wonderful and talented director Velvia Keithley, and has two talented and beautiful daughters, Ashlea Zadakis and Johanna Keithley.
TAMARA DRAPER (Vice President of Production/Treasurer) is a long time thespian, enjoying time on and back stage work. She has a BFA and AFA in Theatre, and currently holds the title of VP of Production for HCT. While the majority of her experience is on stage acting she has assisted with stage management and dabbled in directing. Some of her most memorable HCT moments have been Poole/Hyde #4 in Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and Velma in Harvey. She joined the HCT Board of directors in November of 2015 and has enjoyed every minute of it.
CHRISTINA TAYLOR WOOD (Secretary) is extremely excited to be a member of Huntsville Community Theatre family as secretary on the Board of Directors. Having fallen in love with acting at a young age, Christina is no stranger to theatre on stage or off. After graduating from Baylor Law School, Christina returned to the area and is now the Assistant Criminal District Attorney for San Jacinto County. She also received her Bachelors in Psychology from Texas A&M where she was seen as Lucy in The Beggar’s Opera and Madame de Rosemonde in Dangerous Liaisons. Her Huntsville Community Theatre debut was in Cheaper by the Dozen as Ernestine Gilbreth and also appeared as Hope in Almost, Maine and Nurse Ruth Kelly in Harvey. You may have also seen her in her UIL Award winning roles Thelma in Trip to Bountiful, Clara in To See the Stars, and Elda Tate in A Rose for Emily. Her favorite roles include Alice Ann in Only You and Patty Simcox in GREASE! When she is not on stage, Christina loves to read, write, and spend time with her family and friends.
TAYLON BLACK (Board Member) joined the HCT Board in mid-2016. Theatre is her passion, and although she has always been dramatic, she accredits her sister as the spark to her theatrical flame. From high school into college she has performed in numerous productions, including Tom Sawyer (Mrs. Harper), The Odd Couple (Cecily Pigeon), and many others – including several written by her mentor and college theatre professor, Dr. Shellie O’Neal. During her time at the HCT she has performed in two shows, the Best Christmas Pageant Ever as Mrs. McCarthy and Proof as Claire, and she also assisted backstage in the production of Jake’s Women.
ERIN CASSIDY (Board Member) joined the HCT Board of Directors as Secretary in Feb 2014 and became Treasurer in June 2015. Erin appeared as the Doctor in HCT's 2014 production of "Shadowlands." She is an Associate Professor in the Library at Sam Houston State University, where she has worked since July 2007 maintaining the library's web presence and supporting reference, instruction, and collection development in her areas of subject specialty, History and Foreign Languages. Outside of work, Erin is a movie buff and an animal lover who enjoys supporting HCT behind the scenes.
BRUCE CHABOT (Board Member) joined the HCT Board of Directors in February 2015. Bruce teaches at SHSU, by way of Texas A&M. He has served in the clergy and the Navy Reserve. Back home in Corpus Christi, at the Harbor Playhouse, Bruce acted in numerous shows, including “Mr. Roberts” and “Arsenic & Old Lace.” Bruce’s directing and production credits include “The Gondoliers.” The plays that Bruce has performed in at HCT’s include: “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and "Dr. Cook's Garden."
CHUCK FIELDS (Board Member) joined the HCT board in 2016 and is also a frequent set-builder for HCT productions. He built the sets for “Harvey”, “King Lear”, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, ”Jake’s Women”, “The Miss Firecracker Contest”, and “The Rocking Tale of Snow White”. When Chuck is not building sets, he also helps to operate the spot light. His only attempt at acting was as Reverend Hopkins in “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. Chuck is a carpenter by trade.
MARY LAURENT (Board Member) was born in Tulsa, OK in 1940. She started speech and tap dancing lessons at age five or six. Mary attended Northwestern University’s School of Speech, in Evanston, ILL where she met and married her best friend and soul mate. Two children followed, as well as many very different occupations from owning a restaurant to being a charge aide at a mental hospital. Along the way, there was always Community Theater, from Winnetka, ILL to Guthrie, OK and now Huntsville. For HCT, Mary played the role of Miss Maude in “Smoke on the Mountain”, “Smoke on the Mountain – Homecoming” and “Sanders Family Christmas”.

KAREN MILLER (Board Member) joined the HCT Board in 2016 and is pleased to be a small part of what makes this theatre run. Karen began acting in community theatre right here at HCT way back in 2002. She was involved in several productions here before moving to Austin, Texas where she joined up with the Way Off Broadway Community Theater. Over the next ten years, Karen continued to act, served as a board member, and added directing to her resume. She is excited to bring her talents back to the Huntsville community and looks forward to serving with this group in many capacities.
JOSH MOORE (Board Member) has been performing on the stage on and off again for over ten years. He started by performing Footloose in his mother’s womb and then went on to classes in Palestine High School under one of the greatest theatre teachers anyone could have, Mr. Eric Cates. His past roles have included Jason in Medea, Jesus in Godspell, Horatio in Hamlet, and Bill Livingston in The Women of Lockerbie. Josh has an Associates of Fine Arts Degree in General Theatre and is working towards a BA in History. Combining his love of theatre and history he hopes to one day direct his favorite play The Lion in Winter. In his spare time he enjoys comic books and enhancing his taste palate by trying new spirits. After listening to his partner Tamara talk about HCT for over two years, he decided that it was time he learned what all the fuss was about and joined the board. He looks forward to helping make this theatre all that it can be.
HOLLY PAGE (Board Member) first discovered an interest in acting during her first year at college. It was on the film set as an extra in the movie the return that her love of acting & film were set in stone. Holly made her HCT stage debut last season as the elderly Mrs Chauvenet in Harvey. Then she was cast as the wicked Goneril in William Shakespeare's King Lear. Next she played the church gossip, Edna Slocum in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. But Holly's most challenging & favorite role was that of Maggie in Neal Simons comedy Jake's Women. She assisted backstage in the final show of last season, The Miss Firecracker Contest. Holly also performed on stage at the Crighton Theater in Conroe as Tia Carlita in The Dust Bowl Motel. Holly joined the HCT Board of Directors mid 2016 and looks forward to helping behind the scenes. Other than her passions for film and acting, Holly loves animals, traveling and spending time with her loved ones.
