Huntsville Community Theatre presents a children’s theater camp production of The Wizard of Oz. The production will be the final result of a workshop for young people between the ages of 7-13.
The Wizard of Oz is a fairy tale that chronicles the adventures of a young girl named Dorothy as she travels through the magical land of Oz, all the while trying to find her way home – learning several life lessons, and even more about herself along the way.

Oscar nominated director Richard Linklater returns to Huntsville on May 30, 2012 to showcase his most recent film, Bernie. The screening will be held at the J. Philip Gibbs, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, Old Towne Theatre, 1023 Twelfth Street at 7:45 p.m. Linklater will introduce his film and have a question and answer session after the film. Proceeds benefit the Walker County Historical Commission, Huntsville Community Theatre and Main Street. Tickets for a pre-screening reception from 5:30- 7 P.M. with the director on the grounds of the Gibbs-Powell House Museum, 1228 Eleventh Street, and the movie are available for $40. Tickets for the movie only can be purchased for $25 for adults and $15 for students with identification. Tickets can be purchased at the Main Street office at 1203 University Avenue of from HCT and WCHC Board members. Contact Kim McAuliffe at 291-5920 for more information.
